Sandy Johnson - Watercolour Artist

biography

Derbyshire artist Sandy Johnson has throughout her life, enjoyed colour and design – whether creating a garden or a new interior style. With encouragement from husband David, she picked up her watercolour brushes with enthusiasm during the late 1990s. Studying with local professional artists Sandy has developed her own style, producing landscapes, seascapes, historic buildings, flowers and pen and ink studies. At the suggestion of her professional art teacher, Sandy decided to establish a series of lessons and workshops for absolute beginners. "Many potential students feel intimidated when painting for the first time," says Sandy, "especially when the 'beginners' class includes some students who have painted before." Sandy's lessons and workshops are designed with everyone at the same start point, with only four students in each class.
